Policies

DEPOSITS: To secure a reservation we require a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total amount of your stay. (bookings from other sites, like Airbnb and booking.com may be subject to different rules)
PAYMENT: Full payment for bookings must be received 30 days before your check-in date unless a different agreement is made. Rates are for single or double occupancy. Booking prices are quoted in USD and applicable to the 16% IVA and 3% hotel taxes. We accept Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, We do not accept personal checks. (bookings from other sites, like Airbnb and booking.com may be subject to different rules)
CANCELLATIONS: Due to the small number of rooms and shortened stays, cancellations impact us greatly. If you cancel your booking 30 days or more before your arrival date, you will receive a full refund of your booking payment minus the non-refundable deposit. There will be no refund for cancellations made later than 30 days before your reservation date. (bookings from other sites, like Airbnb and booking.com may be subject to different rules)
RESERVATIONS: The minimum age to book a room on the property is 21. Length of stay restrictions vary due to the time of year, holidays, and special events. Inquire directly with the Bed and Breakfast for specific details.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: Check-in time is 3 pm and check-out is 11 am. For early arrivals and late departures, we will be glad to store your luggage until your room is ready or until you leave the island.
SMOKING: The Mermaid and The Pearl is an indoor smoke-free environment. Smoking is strictly prohibited in guest rooms, and any indoor shared spaces.
PETS: We love pets! Please inquire directly for more information.
ACCOMMODATIONS: There is a maximum of 2 guests per room or 12 guests for full house reservations.
HURRICANE: We are not responsible for delays, interruptions, cancellations, or inconveniences to your trip due to weather. However, if you have a confirmed reservation and you are due to arrive with in 24 hours and an evacuation order due to a hurricane is in effect, you will receive a full refund; or you may transfer any deposits made to a future stay. If you have already arrived on the island and an evacuation order is placed, you will receive a refund for the unused portion of your stay.
